Photography has its limits….

I started taking pictures because I was amazed at the phenomena of the photographic image, the ability to capture the exact light reflected at a moment in history and to reproduce it infinitely. My current body of work is made up of two distinct parts, both separate in their execution yet, connected in this conceptual foundation I began with years ago. The first portion of the work is a documentation of those around me, portraits along with other photographs that act as an artifact of the subject’s existence. The second is compiled of a collection of color photograms, which I’ve created without the use of a camera or film. These images are tied together by the contemplation of which of these are true artifacts in their documentation of both the actual and the unreal.
